This new series by the noteworthy Chinese sculptor Xie Ai Ge comprises 10 different yoga poses, with each pose being in an edition of 8. Xie, a yoga practitioner, is inspired by the inherent juxtaposition of tranquility and power in the movements of yoga to create this series.
The round shaped bodies, facial expressions and simple attires of the figures exude tranquility and happiness while they strike a pose effortlessly. Each pose is precise yet effortless, evoking the philosophy of integrating quietness of movement with the energy and power of the pose. Therein lies the beauty of this work.
